De Buyer’s Wok from their Mineral B range is ultra-durable and able to hold sky-high levels of heat that ensure your food sears and browns to perfection. Made in France and designed for frequent and intense use, thiswok has a 1.5 mm-thick body of raw white steel that is easy to lift, but can withstand rapid heat rise,making it ideal for searing, grilling, and browning.The pan will only improve with time, thanks to a natural easy-release layer of ‘seasoning’ that develops over time as you cook in it. You’ll know how well-seasoned this pan is based on the colour: It will go from greyto blackthe darker it is, the more non-stick. The ergonomic curved French-style steel handle stays cool as you cook on the hob, making it easier to manoeuvre.

When manufactured, it is treated with organic beeswax, which protects the pan from oxidation in transit and facilitates seasoning this needs to be removed by you prior to use, as it kickstarts the seasoning process. (To learn how to do that, clickhere. It’s very easy!) It is suitable for all hobs, including induction. This wok is perfect for healthy and quick cooking as it allows cooking with little fat. It is ideal for stir-fries, sauted vegetables, as the steel allows the Maillard reaction, a caramelisation of juices on the surface and tenderness inside.
