All-Clad pioneered multi-ply cookware in the 1970s with the d3 (also called TriPly) series, when they layered aluminium, an excellent conductor of heat, with stainless steel, which is excellent at being non-reactive, oven-safe, induction hob-compatible, and extremely durable. This two-handled frying pan feels light to lift but is sturdy and warp-resistant. It is very versatile, hence the word ‘universal’ in its name use it to roast chicken, cook a paella, saute vegetables, and so much more. The size makes it easy for use in the oven and at the table. It has a curved rim for drip-free pouring especially useful if you are cooking meat and want to make a pan sauce. The stainless steel is polished on the outside for a mirror finish and brushed on the inside. Dishwasher use is not recommended.
